Have you ever wished that you could decide the outcome of an art competition (especially when your painting is involved)? Well, here’s your chance. I’ll be holding a series of weekly art contests for the month of November. The winner of each week’s contest will receive a free download of their choice (either Drawing, Value, Color, or Edges) from my instructional art series, Principles of Painting, as well as having their artwork featured on my Facebook page and Blog, along with a link to their website. At the end of the month, the four weekly winners will then be placed in a final contest for a chance to win a complete set of my instructional art DVDs (Drawing, Value, Color, Edges, and Painting Outdoor Light).

Here’s how it works: I will choose ten paintings each week to include in each contest. After that, it’s up to you. You will then have the opportunity to vote for your favorite painting. At the end of the week, the painting with the most votes will win the prize. So, if I only receive one entry per contest, then your chances for winning are greatly increased.

Each weekly winner will receive their choice of which download they would like. Click here to see clips from each video.

The rules are simple:

1. The entry must be a representational painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, etc.). No digital or abstract artwork.

2. You choose the subject (Portrait/Figure, still life, landscape). No nudes allowed.

3. Email me your entry in JPEG format to BPortrait@aol.com along with your name, title, medium and dimensions of the painting. You can also include your website address if you would like. The size of your digital image doesn’t matter, but be sure it’s large enough for others to see and only include the painting itself (no picture frames).

4. Label “Art Contest #1” as the title of your email.

One of the four weekly winners will receive a complete set of instructional DVDs which includes Painting Outdoor Light.

The contest is open to all artists worldwide and, best of all, it’s FREE!

The deadline for submitting your artwork for the first contest will be this Monday, October 31, 2011.

Good luck and I wish you all the best!
