Pre-session consultation to select timeless formal or informal clothing.

Time Commitment

1 to 2 hour photographic sitting for lighting and compositional captures.

Deposit

50% deposit due by date of sitting.

How much does it cost to commission an oil portrait?

Pricing depends on the size of the canvas, the number of figures, and the complexity of the composition. Brian provides a custom quote after your initial consultation, once the pose, setting, and number of subjects are determined. A 50% sitting deposit reserves your commission date.

How long does a commissioned portrait take to complete?

Does Brian paint from photographs or from live sittings?

Brian works from a photographic sitting, which he conducts himself. This approach gives him the opportunity to spend time with a client before taking photos, getting to know them better and answering any questions that they might have. This initial meeting helps to determine what lighting situation, posing details and background elements would work best for their custom portrait.
